I might be married but....

This post is really about two topics that many newlyweds can probably comiserate with: babies and friendships.

I can't begin to tell you single people out there how hard it is to be married with mostly single friends.  Don't get me wrong.... My friends are amazing people. I just feel like some of them don't quite understand that just because I'm married doesn't mean I can't go out without my husband. It doesn't mean that I have any less time that I can spend with them. In fact, in all honesty I feel like I can go out more. I don't have to worry about getting home to spend time with him because he is always there now. Girls weekends are even more welcome now that I live with a boy because sometimes I like to talk about girly topics. So all you single people out there in cyber world that have married friends... Don't stop inviting those with the bling... We married people need time apart as much as we need time together!

On to the next topic lots of newlyweds dread.......

Babies.... I love them. Their little hands and feet. Their baby fat rolls and toothless smiles. Babies are truly a blessing to everyone involved. All that said- not every newlywed wants to jump right into making babies. I know that for my husband and I, we have a plan. Our plan is that within two years we want a home. We want better jobs that pay more so we can save more, and we want to have a couple of years to ourselves for traveling or just being together without any kids to add any extra stress to our new marrage. After those two years we will discuss if we are ready for a little bundle of joy. I know what your thinking.... Gods plan might be different from ours... And if thats the case than it will happen when he wants it to anyways, and that will be fine with us. For right now, we are happy to see and hold and play with the babies that are not ours. I know not every couple feels the same as we do.... But please, stop with the questions about babies.... The answer will always be this: "When we are ready."

With lots of love,
Your newlywed blogger,
Christina
